It is not that I am uneducated, I asked Dr H because I wanted to know from an idiot's point of view.

Yes, I said I wanted it from an idiot's point of view, but I still wanted an answer.

I'm thinking about investing in a new model. After more than 20 years wedded bliss, I'm considering trading in Mrs. C.

A simple answer, I didn't expect much more

I didn't bet on Spain until the end of the tournament as the odds on them were not any good.
At the start of the tournament my model said that Holland and Germany were underpriced and so I bet on them. I had £30 on a Holland Germany final at 50/1.
Fortunately I managed to lay this off just before the Germany Spain game by that bet on Spain.

I also had a number of bets on individual scores - I placed 240 bets on match scores - around 4/5 bets per game - where the odds were better than the probabilities. I won 13 of these 240, however as the odds were fairly good - I made quite a bit. I had £1 on Portugal to beat N Korea 7-0 and £4 on Germany to beat Argentina 4-0 for example.

I was lucky to some degree with the Germany Holland Final bet, but it was based on quite a good model.

No rounds, I'm afraid - the money that I have not already spent, I am saving up to invest in my new model which will be hopefully up and running for the new season.

Incidentally, what has this Sharkey fellow done that sets him up as a Deity???

Sorry Caleb, but your eyes must be brown to indicate how much sh ite you are full off.
Dont take us as mugs, as I find it offensive. You keep going on about this fantastic model you have that will make you Millions of Pounds. But I bet you still live at home with Mummy in your 2 bedroom flat and have never had a girlfriend.

The annoying thing is that I have been calling them Netherlands all through the tournament and now I slip. My model even says Netherlands, even though I had to translate all of the history and fixture data from Holland.
I am with a lot of Dutchies this week, and they are fairly calm about the whole Netherlands Holland thing. Not at all like if you call someone from Scotland English.

Starkey - A Phd certainly beats me - what was the topic?

Dr H - profit. I put @200 into Bet365 which they matched and @100 into Betfair. I have since withdrawn over @1000 from those sites, and have quite a bit left over to start next season (apologies, they dont have a pound key on this Frog keyboard).

unit - it will not make me millions at all - may be a bit of pin money that will buy me and my Mum a nice holiday somewhere. And its a 3 bedroom house!!!
